At YINSH PRECISION, we have been dedicated to manufacturing precision locknuts for over 30 years. Our expertise in this field has allowed us to expand our reach to over 40 countries worldwide, providing our customers with total solutions. Our presence in major markets such as Japan, Korea, Germany, Italy, India, and the United States is a testament to our commitment to quality and service. The company’s development over the past decades can be divided into four stages :Start-up stage (1989-1996), Growth stage (1996-2005), First transformation (2005-2015) and Second transformation (2016-present).

Start-up Stage (1989-1996)

Yinsh Precision Industry Co., Ltd. was initially established with a focus on processing precision small screws and grinding machine tool spindles in the domestic industry.The company also introduced an at the time revolutionary brand marketing concept for Taiwanese companies to shape the Yinsh brand image as a professional manufacturer of precision locknuts and other components.

Growth Stage (1996-2005)

In this stage Yinsh Precision established a close cooperation system with technical and vocational education systems, creating a talent cultivation system for industry-academia cooperation to enhance technical and manufacturing capabilities. Yinsh Precision also obtained ISO 9000 international quality assurance certification, OHSAS 18001 industrial safety and health certification, and ISO 14001 environmental quality assurance certification during those years.

First Transformation (2005-2015)

The relaxation of Taiwan's "Go West" policy caused most of the machinery industry to move their production lines to China to increase competitiveness in the market. Yinsh Precision faced the same choice, but decided to stay in Taiwan, replace outdated equipment, and expand production capacities with a new plant. The company broke away from cutthroat competition and moved toward a high-quality approach. In 2014, we established "Yinsh Enterprise Love Volunteer Team" to encourage employees to care for the underprivileged and support community activities, the first company volunteer team approved by the Taichung City Department of Labor.

Second Transformation (2016-present)

Yinsh Precision decided to actively invest in smart manufacturing and digital transformation projects, recognizing the trend of intelligent machinery and the need for supply chain restructuring to meet the mixed production demand of small quantities and various styles and large batch production from customers. Yinsh Precision is leveraging digitization tools to help production equipment run 24/7 while satisfying market demand for small quantities, variety, high precision, and high quality.

At Yinsh, we take material communication very seriously. Our customers often have specific requirements for precision and accuracy, and we work closely with them to ensure that we meet those needs. One important aspect of this is finding the right material for the job. We know that this can be a common question, particularly when we receive inquiries from European countries.

Sometimes, the specific material our customers are looking for can only be found in Taiwan, and the cost can be quite high. Therefore we could, for example, suggest using 16MnCr5 as an alternative to SCM 415, or 42CrMo4 as an alternative to SCM 440. We understand that material selection is an important topic for our customers, and we always discuss it with them before proceeding with the quotation process.

Communicating Accuracy

For Yinsh precision, accuracy and tolerances are crucial in the manufacturing process. To ensure that we meet these requirements, clear communication through drawings is essential. We evaluate both geometric and dimensional accuracy in the drawings and make decisions on whether or not the project is feasible. Additionally, we communicate with our customers about precision methods and measurement techniques, allowing them to make informed decisions and ensure that our suggestions align with their expectations.

Communicating Quotations

Effective communication is key in the manufacturing process and the quotation process is a critical aspect of this. After finalizing the drawings, we provide our customers with a formal document known as a quotation which includes all the necessary details such as the part number, material to be used, required quantity, best price, earliest delivery date, incoterm, currency, potential additional costs, and the validity period of the quotation. This comprehensive document not only includes the price but also important information such as the material and delivery date that the customer needs to make an informed decision.

One of the most important aspects of any business is customer service, and at YINSH, we take this very seriously. Smart CNC Manufacturing

Integrated Smart Manufacturing System

Yinsh Precision has developed a smart manufacturing virtual and real-life integration system that includes four modules. The first is cross-factory machine networking, followed by a large-batch automation production unit, an online tool status monitoring module, and a mass production big data analysis module. The aim is to further transform toward smart manufacturing. In the fourth quarter of 2019, the company invested in building a new state-of-the-art smart manufacturing plant in Dali with a human-machine collaboration concept. Cross-factory Networking Module

The cross-factory smart manufacture networking module integrates 150 machines from six factories with different brands and controllers. By extracting, computing, and analyzing machine parameters and information, real-time machine status, equipment operating information, and personnel information can be captured. The process automation unit can integrate robots, machines, and automated feeders based on equipment and process requirements to provide 24/7 continuous production manufacturing capacity.

Big Data Analysis

The mass production quality big data analysis module regularly collects measurement and machine parameter information and performs process capability analysis. The results are presented through interactive electronic dashboards, providing a basis for process improvement, machine stability evaluation, and on-site operator technical skill evaluation. The online tool status monitoring module uses add-on sensor components to provide tool monitoring and early warning through SMB, even for older equipment.

Professional Talents

It is important to note that the staff at YINSH are professional and knowledgeable in their field. Though they may seem young and energetic, some customers may question their ability to produce high-accuracy parts. All of the staff members at YINSH have graduated from university and have received training at the company while studying. This training allows them to learn how to operate high-end machines, thanks to a partnership between the university and YINSH. After graduation, students can apply to work at YINSH and must pass monthly tests to ensure they are able to operate the machines independently. When it comes to precision parts manufacture pricing, there are two main options to differentiate: small quantity orders and mass production orders. In the same plant where we are currently located, there is an area dedicated to automated work cells with robotic arms and machine tools. This allows for automated production, automation, and smart manufacturing, which is crucial for both small volume and mass production.

High-precision small-volume custom manufacturing

For small volume orders, many customers may struggle to find a supplier that can produce only 1 or 2 parts or a prototype at a reasonable price. However, at Yinsh , the company is willing to become a long-term partner for customers. Once an order is received, it is entered into the ERP system and processed using high-end integrated machines, which reduces processing time and saves costs. This enables Yinsh to offer reasonable prices and acceptable lead times for small volume orders.

In the metrology lab, there are several inspection tools available, including Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) from ZEISS, a well-known brand from Germany. In fact, Yinsh has a total of 6 units of CMMs from ZEISS and Mitutoyo, a Japanese corporation. The lab is also equipped with a roundness tester and a contour measuring system from Mitutoyo, allowing for multiple inspections to be performed simultaneously.

TAF Testing Lab

Additionally, the lab is certified by TAF, which means that the credibility of the test reports is not in question. This is especially important for customers from the West, such as Europe or the US, who have higher standards for inspections. At the time of the visit, staff were inspecting new parts, as every detail and every part dimension is crucial for precision parts that are customized for customers. Our new production lines also utilize integrated, complex machining centers and robotic arms equipped with 3D visual systems, which reduces the number of required machines from 7-8 down to only 2-3 for the same process. How to install Yinsh locknuts?

Step 1 - Check whether the profile is injured or not by visual inspection

Check whether the profile is injured or not by visual inspection, if yes, fix it with triangular rasp as left, then, refining it with crocus paper as right.

Step 2 - Check whether the inner thread or outer thread is clean or not

Clean the inner thread and outer thread by using cleaning naphtha or cleaning fluid then lubricate it before assembling.

Step 3 - Lubricating

Lubricate the inner thread and the outer thread before assembling. (refer to left and right).

Step 4 - Installing the locknut onto outer thread

Lock the locknut manually until it contacted end surface (please refer to left and right), please skip this step if the locknut type is YSK.

Step 5 - Loosen the set screws

For YSF, YSR and YSA locknut, loosen the screws slightly after the locknut is contacted the end surface(left side); For YSK locknut, loosen the screws slightly before the locknut is contacted the end surface.

Step 6 - Choose suitable tool

Choose suitable tool to apply the needed torque onto locknut. Assembly tools for precision

Step 7 - Tighten the locknut

Divide the needed torque and apply it onto locknut by using digital wrench with hook wrench for 3-4 times. e.g. If the needed torque is 90N-m, divide it into 30N-m→60N-m→90N-m, then apply the torque as follows:

  1. First, 30N-m on each groove
  2. Second, 60N-m on each groove
  3. Final, 90N-m on each groove

Follow above steps until reaching needed torque.

Step 7a - YSk Series

For YSK locknut, please use pin wrench collocate with digital wrench (left & right), and assembly the locknut according to above steps.

Step 7b - YSK Series

Use digital wrench collocate socket wrench (left & right), by this kind of wrench, you can apply the torque onto locknut equally, therefore, the needed torque can be applied directly.

Step 8 - Tighten the set screws

Apply the torque onto set screws until reaching needed value with suitable torque wrench. e.g. If the needed torque is 9N-m, dividing it into 3N-m→6N-m→9N-m, then apply the torque as follow:

  1. 3N-m on each groove
  2. 6N-m on each groove

Final: 9N-m on each groove

Step 8 - YSK Series

The locking way of set screws of YSK type e.g. If the needed torque is 9N-m, dividing it into 3N-m→6N-m→9N-m, then apply the torque as follow:

  1. First, 3N-m on each groove
  2. Second, 6N-m on each groove
  3. Final, 9N-m on each groove

Follow above steps until reaching needed torque.

Applying the torque with U shaped wrench for YSK locknut is not recommended due to the locking way of this kind of locknut can cause deformation and leads thread seizing easily.

Step 9

The torque can be influenced by many factors, e.g. the preload of bearing(ball screw), different kind of locknut, the accuracy, hardness, processing way of surface, even type of lubricant, therefore, there’s no specific torque value, the recommend torque value is for reference.

Examine to determine if thread directions conflict. If they do, you are using the wrong locknut.

Potential Cause 5 - Mismatched thread diameters.

Measure both thread diameters with calipers to be sure the sizes match.

Potential Cause 6 - External spindle thread diameter too large.

Use feeler gauges to determine thread sizes.

Potential Cause 7 - Non-standard spindle thread specifications.

Use a profile projector to be sure spindle threads are at 60 degrees.

If the lock screws are loosened off and the lock nut still won't come free, it could mean the copper thread locks which the lock screws tighten against are jammed against the spindle threads. Lightly tap at the locking screw locations to jar them free. Snug up each lock screw and loosen off once again to free the locknut.

Potential Cause 2 - Dirty threads

Clean all threads and surfaces with an appropriate industrial cleaner and lubricate properly.
